Program Goals & Objectives
ED2 goals focus specifically on environmental science and seek to:
(1)
Deepen teacher science content knowledge and strategies;
(2)
Strengthen student science content knowledge; and
(3)
Improve school/community partnership opportunities
ED2 objectives focus on intermediate grade teachers’:
(1)
Understanding and integration of technology (e.g., Google Earth, Google Maps, and Social Media);
(2)
Scientific and citizen science skills (e.g., observation, data collection and analysis, problem solving, and field notes);
(3)
Knowledge of watersheds and the diverse ecosystems from which they are comprised; and
(4)
Understanding of problem-based curricular development using the specific resources found within the region.
